If someone uses their wealth properly, sparingly, thoughtfully and wisely, but adds nothing to it, it is like eye makeup or stibium, of which one always takes away only a very small amount, like smoke that is blown away by the wind, but which, despite the insignificance of the quantity taken away, is eventually used up.[1]
