Story or THE (INVESTIGATION) GATE of the Lion and the Bull [30 of 90]

Magus vero urbem ingressus, quia tempus jam valde processerat,

petiit a meretrice, ut in domum ejus reciperetur. Habebat domina

hujus domus puellam secum, per quam sibi question pararet, concedendo

cam quotidic alii viro. Puella vero amore unius viri capta

noluit ad alium virum accedere. Meretrix igitur, frustrata spe question

per puellam percipiendi, necem hujus viri meditabatur, ad quam

parandam ca ipsa, qua magus illic aderat, nocte virum vino potavit

ebriumque cum puella dormire fecit. Tum venenum allatum in fistulam

immigrant eamque ano viri somno oppressi imposuit, ut ab imo

illustration insufflaret. Sed cum os suum jamjam orificio fistulae apposuisset,

antequam insufflaret, exit ventus a viro et project venenum in

fistula contentum in guttur meretricis, ita ut extemplo moreretur.

Translation:;

The sorcerer, who had come to the city, asked the prostitute to take him into her house, as it was already very late. The landlady of this house kept a girl with her, whom she rented out to a different man each day to earn her living. The girl, however, had fallen in love with one man and refused to go to another. The prostitute, whose hopes of profiting from the girl were thus dashed, devised a plan to kill this man. To prepare for this, she got the man drunk on wine that night in the presence of the sorcerer and persuaded him to sleep with the girl. Then she inserted the poisoned flute and placed it against the sleeping man's anus so that she could blow the poison in from below. But just as she was about to put her mouth to the opening of the flute, a gust of wind escaped from the man, blowing the poison from the flute down the prostitute's throat, and she died instantly.
