The following day, the magician departed and asked a shoemaker for lodging. The shoemaker took him into his house and instructed his wife to provide well for the magician as long as he wished to stay. Then the shoemaker went to dine at another establishment. However, a man was there who was pursuing the shoemaker's wife, and a barber's wife was acting as an intermediary between them. When the shoemaker's wife noticed that her husband had gone out to a feast, she called the intermediary and whispered to her:
